Here is a quote attributed to Donald Trump from his recent keynote address at the Faith and Freedom Coalition's "Road to Majority" conference:
We are warriors in a righteous crusade to stop the arsonists, atheists, globalists, and the Marxists, and we will restore our republic as one nation under God with liberty and justice for all.
What are we to make of someone running for president who is pledging to stop us and demolish the separation of church and state? It is hard to imagine feeling safe under such a regime, isn't it? How much solace can we take from his history of broken promises? After all, it would be much easier to stick it to some atheists than to get Mexico to pay for a border wall.
The next time a Christian asks you why atheists seem to be so fond of bringing up the Crusades, point them in this direction. One reason is that some Christians aren't ready to let go of them yet.
