A Post I Wish I Had Written

social media
It is not every day that I come across a post on a blog I've never heard of written by an author I've never heard of and find myself thinking, "Damn, I wish I had written that." When it happens, it seems almost criminal not to share it with as many people as possible. I mean, good content deserves an audience. And so, that is what I am going to do here.

The post in question was written by David Smalley of Dogma Debate With David Smalley. Evidently, he does some sort of Internet radio show/podcast. Since I don't have much interest in that particular medium, that is probably why I'm not familiar with him. Fortunately, he writes a blog too, which brings me to the post in question. It is called "What's Killing The Atheist Movement?" I hope you find is as timely and thought-provoking as I did. I'm happy to say that I've seen several other atheist bloggers sharing it, so I'm guessing it will be widely read.

I'm sure you've encountered the "this is why we can't have nice things" meme countless times. That was the thought that kept going through my head when I read David's post. I think he did an excellent job of providing one reason why we secular folks have not been able to form the sort of movement that would permit us to make real progress toward the secular society many of us say we'd like to see.
