Gingrich: Secularism to Blame for U.S. Economy

Newt GingrichYou know how the Christian god sends hurricanes, tornados, and earthquakes to destroy cities and towns that displease it in some manner? When this happens, I've noticed that many of the worst offenders (e.g., atheists, homosexuals, etc.) escape unscathed while many devout Christians are harmed. It is almost as if the weather was random, but obviously that can't be true. Anyway, what if it was not just a town or city that displeased the Christian god but the entire country? What do you suppose would happen then?

Republican presidential candidate and ethically challenged professional scam artist, Newt Gingrich, has news for us. This is why the U.S. economy is in the sorry state it is in. Our country has forsaken his god by embracing secularism. We are now getting the punishment we deserve.
A country that has been now since 1963 relentlessly in the courts driving God out of public life shouldn’t be surprised at all the problems we have. Because we’ve in fact attempted to create a secular country, which I think is frankly a nightmare.
That's right, atheists. You and I are to blame. And why 1963? I assume it is because this was the year the Supreme Court decided Abington School District v. Schempp, ruling that it was unconstitutional for public school personnel to read the Christian bible over the school intercom systems and force children to participate in bible reading and prayer. According to Gingrich, the U.S. has been going downhill ever since we stopped forcing our children to pray in school.
