If you aren't using Twitter yet, you are missing out an another dynamic online community of atheists. That said, Twitter is not without frustrations. In this post, I am going to offer a quick suggestion for what you should do when you encounter spam on Twitter. You see, the spam problem on Twitter is getting worse, and ignoring it is not helping.

We all know what spam is, so I'm not going to waste your time on that subject. Instead, here is what I suggest you do upon encountering Twitter spam:
  1. When you get a spam message on Twitter, look at the sender's tweet stream. Is this a spam account or just someone with poor judgment?
  2. If it is a spam account, please do us all a big favor and report it.
  3. If the account does not appear to be a spam account but simply a user with bad judgment, unfollow them and/or block them.
With these simple steps, you can reduce your own experience of Twitter spam and help all of us do the same.
