Is Atheist Nexus a Christian Sham?

I was quick to join Atheist Nexus and have been promoting it here because I think it serves a needed function of helping to build community among atheists, humanists, and freethinkers. However, some disturbing information has emerged on the site suggesting that Atheist Nexus might be connected with the Divine Christian Center. We are still waiting for an explanation from the moderators, but in the meantime, I offer two suggestions.

First, if you have not yet joined Atheist Nexus, hold off a bit longer. As soon as I have more information, I will post it here. But there is no point giving them any information about you until we have determined that they are not Christians posing as atheists for some reason.

Second, if you have already joined Atheist Nexus, check your profile and make sure you know exactly what you are revealing. Changing some of your profile information may still be worthwhile. Above all, make sure that the password you are using for the site is unique.

I'm really hoping that there is a suitable explanation. However, since I was an early promoter of this site and some of you may have joined because I recommended it, I feel terrible that there is even the possibility of this being a sham. I wanted to let you know what was happening as soon as possible, and I will let you know as soon as I learn more. If news emerges while I'm at work today, please comment here.
