This will come as no surprise (you've seen the video), but Perry joins the exclusive three-time "winners" club by making the following statement in his latest campaign ad:
I’m not ashamed to admit that I’m a Christian, but you don’t need to be in the pew every Sunday to know that there’s something wrong in this country when gays can serve openly in the military but our kids can’t openly celebrate Christmas or pray in school. This has already been dissected countless times, and my take is quite simple. First, that a Christian would be ashamed to be a part of the majority religion does not make much sense. Second, what do gays in the military have to do with public schools. Third, our children can and do celebrate Christmas and pray in school (they just aren't led in prayer by school officials). And finally, demanding accurate history is hardly the same as attacking anyone's religious heritage, unless of course, this heritage has been made up and does not reflect actual history.
As President, I’ll end Obama’s war on religion. And I’ll fight against liberal attacks on our religious heritage.
