Image via CrunchBaseI added the Amazon.com ad widget you see on the right sidebar in early December for two reasons. First, I thought it might help boost ad revenues a bit with all the shopping going on. Second, the other Amazon widget I had been using was slowing load times too much. Well, this one is faster, but the idea of boosting ad revenues has not been very successful. In fact, it has essentially backfired. You see, I keep buying stuff from my own widget! Some of those "lighting deals" have just been too good for me to pass up. At least I'm doing my part to help our ailing economy.
