We all know that humans are capable of unimaginable atrocities. Some atheists see this as evidence against the possibility of gods; some Christians see it as evidence for the necessity of their god. But I think both groups can agree that humans sometimes do some really nasty stuff. Deep Thoughts often posts examples of Christian hypocrisy, reporting case after case of Christian clergy engaging in despicable acts. This one sets a new standard of depravity, and I just wanted to bring it to your attention in case you missed it.
An Alabama pastor, Anthony Hopkins of the Inspirational Tabernacle Church of God in Christ, stands accused of the following:
Police arrested him in front of his audience but were kind enough to wait until he finished his sermon. WTF? Evidently, their respect for his role as a pastor was so great that they were reluctant to interrupt his sermon. Never mind why they were arresting him. Now that is Christian privilege! Unbelievable!
