Many people are desperate to convince us that Thanksgiving is a Christian holiday, and some members of the neo-con fringe are going so far as to whine about a war on Thanksgiving. I suppose we should not be surprised. After all, where ignorance lives, intolerance will thrive. Perhaps we'd all be better off if we learned the historical truth about Thanksgiving to replace the drivel many of us were fed in elementary school. Now this ought to make for some stimulating conversation around the dinner table!
