Creationism: God's gift to the ignorant - Weekend Review - Times Online

It isn't very often that someone living in Mississippi gets to laugh at the stupidity of people in another state, so I figure I better take full advantage of the situation. Thanks to Shinsyotta for bringing this great article by Richard Dawkins to my attention. I like how he points out that it is uncertainty which drives science. I wonder if any Christians would reject modern medicine solely because there were questions that it could not yet answer?

I remember reading about the Scopes trial when I was in school and everyone having a good laugh over it. It is unbelievable that there are still Christians who want to have that debate. I know the political pendulum is supposed to swing, but what is with this recent outbreak of idiocy? My hunch is that this has something to do with the gradual "dumbing down" of American education that has been happening over the past decade or so.
