The Evangelical Atheist has a great post about W getting ready to veto a stem cell research bill that actually passed through Congress. In this one simple act, he can pay off a huge debt to the Christian extremists who made his election possible. Does it bother him that other countries are moving ahead with this research? Nah, we are better than all other countries - we have an imaginary man-in-the-sky on our side. Does it bother him that people will die as a result of this veto? Not at all! Sick people must have done something to offend the imaginary man-in-the-sky or they wouldn't be sick. Besides, the pain and suffering of countless adults pales in comparison to the horrors of "murdering" a handful of cells that is about as human as the tree in my yard.
